Our organic high-phenolic extra virgin olive oil
We source our olive oil from a small village in the historical region of Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Over millennia, this area was predominantly dedicated to agriculture and has fostered the coexistence of wild olive trees with advantageous herbs and fragrant plants. These elements, cultivated in an ageless ceremony, were nurtured with precise attention by Greek olive farmers. Thanks to all of these aspects, the olives grown in this area have an exceptionally high polyphenol concentration.
Why polyphenols matter
Polyphenols are antioxidants responsible for most of the health benefits of olive oil. They demonstrate beneficial effects on physiological processes such as antiatherogenic, cardioprotective, anticancer, neuroprotective, antidiabetic, and anti-obesity processes, as well as their metabolism and bioavailability.*
Regular store-bought extra virgin olive oils contain less than 50mg/kg of polyphenols. An olive oil is high-phenolic if the polyphenol content exceeds 250mg/kg. Only exceptional high-phenolic olive oils exceed 1200mg/kg of polyphenols, which is why we are so proud of Rise™.
